What your filmmakers get

The screenings end; the film doesn't have to. These are the terms every filmmaker you refer signs up to.

80% of net receipts

Filmmakers keep 80% of what their films earn on FAST and AVOD. There is no listing fee, and nothing is deducted for encoding, hosting, playout, ad serving or marketing.

Non-exclusive, and theirs to keep

Filmmakers keep full ownership and can work with any other distributor. Any title can be withdrawn at any time from their dashboard.

Their territories, their windows

They decide where each film is available, for how long, and at what rate — and can hold a film back until their festival run or premiere commitments are done.

Paid as the money comes in

Earnings are credited as platforms pay, not held for a quarterly cycle. Filmmakers withdraw from $100, and transfers go out within 48 hours.

Reporting they can actually read

Per-title impressions, viewing minutes and CPM, which platforms licensed the film, and whether each platform has paid — all in the dashboard.

Help getting platform-ready

Built-in tools for captions, metadata and thumbnails. If FurtherTV creates captions, it is only with the filmmaker's approval, recouped from that film's earnings and capped at 20% a period.

Features, shorts, documentaries and series can all be listed.

What your festival gets

Earn on what your selections license

Your festival earns 10% of FurtherTV's net share of the revenue from the filmmakers — and platforms — you refer. It is paid from FurtherTV's share, never from the filmmaker's.

Every edition counts

Alumni from any past edition qualify, however long ago they screened. For most festivals the back catalogue is the larger opportunity.

A page in your name, and a session for your filmmakers

A co-branded landing page carrying your referral link, and one live onboarding session for your selected filmmakers on how FAST and AVOD licensing works.

How it works

1

Join as a festival partner

Apply in two steps. Once approved you get a tracked referral link for your festival.

2

Share it with your selections

Put the link in acceptance emails, your filmmaker handbook and your alumni newsletter. Filmmakers who sign up through it are credited to your festival.

3

They license, you both earn

Filmmakers list their films, set their own terms and license to channels. They earn on what they license, and so does your festival.

Ready-made copy for your filmmakers

Drop this into your acceptance emails, filmmaker handbook or alumni newsletter. Once you're approved, replace [your link] with your festival's referral link from the Referrals page.

We answer your filmmakers' questions — you keep the relationship.

As a selected filmmaker, you can list your film on FurtherTV, a marketplace that licenses independent films to free, ad-supported streaming channels. You keep ownership and 80% of net receipts. There's no listing fee and no exclusivity, you choose the territories and windows — so you can wait until your festival run is over — and you can withdraw your film at any time. What festivals ask us first

Will listing affect a film's premiere status or festival eligibility?

It doesn't have to. Listing is non-exclusive and filmmakers set each film's territories and windows, so they can keep a film off any channel until their festival run or premiere commitments allow it.

Does this cost our filmmakers anything?

No. There is no listing fee and no assignment of rights. Filmmakers keep 80% of net receipts, and your festival's share comes out of FurtherTV's, not theirs.

Can we include filmmakers from past editions?

Yes. Attribution attaches when a filmmaker signs up through your link, however long ago they screened with you.

Are we vouching for the films we refer?

No. You are pointing your filmmakers at a marketplace. Each one applies, is reviewed, and contracts with FurtherTV directly.

Do shorts qualify, or only features?

Features, shorts, documentaries and series can all be listed. Which titles platforms license is up to them, so no placement is guaranteed.

What if a filmmaker already has a distributor?

They can list whatever rights are still free and set their availability around the existing deal. Nothing here asks them to break an agreement they have already signed.
